  • Drink “Tisanes” (fresh leaves or dried herbs in a cup, add boiled water and cover for a few minutes) for health purposes:
    • Chamomile tea at night to aid sleep and relaxation
    • Dill seed tisane, useful for calming stomach gas pains and digestion
    • Lemon balm tisane relieves headaches
    • Peppermint tisane after a meal aids digestion
    • Fennel tisane is good for indigestion and as a diuretic
    • Rosemary tisane is good for halitosis

  • Natural benefits for herbal uses for the home:
    • All-purpose natural surface cleaner is prepared by boiling 1 cup of water with a handful of sage. Let cool, add 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda and 6 drops of lemon juice. This can be used to clean sinks, bathroom and kitchen surfaces
    • Window cleaner is prepared by boiling and simmering 1 cup of water with a few drops of lemon juice. Let cool, add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and 3-4 drops of liquid soap

  • Aloe Vera:
    • Rub onto minor burns or sunburns to relieve pain. Cut off a bit of the leaf and rub the gel on the burn
    • Used to control acne and eczema. Rub a small amount on the skin
    • Relieves itching caused by insect bites and allergies. Rub on the skin

  • Add herbs to warm water to release the natural oils that help relax our bodies and minds. One large handful of chamomile, valerian, rosemary, horsetail and peppermint mixed together in a cloth bag hung under the hot water faucet makes a very soothing bath. Smell travels directly from the nerves into the nose to the part of the brain related with intuition, emotion and creativity.
